You can only get Hiv if the bodily fluids of someone
ReplyDeletewho already have hiv get into your body
Having fewer sex partners can lower your chances
of having sex with someone who is HIV POSITIVE
or another STDS
Some people also believe that HIV transmission by someone on antiretroviral drugs is impossible. While the drugs can lower the amount of virus that is the viral load in the blood, it could still register in semen or vaginal fluid(the virus) and be passed on. The chances are pretty slim but possible. Let's all abstain or use condoms if sex is a must.
ReplyDeleteHIV transmission occurs in many ways like someone with or who has a history of STIs can be infected easily with HIV if he/she comes into contact with a HIV/AIDS infected person, mother to child transfusion either during birth or through breastfeeding and many other ways, people in the society need to speak out about this pandemic by providing enough information on how one gets infected and especially means of controlling its spread.
ReplyDeleteSocietal believes could see people putting quarantine on infected people.they thought HiV could be spread by shaking hands, living together, playing and eating together which is not the case.Education should be observed
ReplyDeleteIt's a high time for people to stop believing in some non-existing beliefs and move to the today world. They need to learn on how HIV is transmitted, how to avoid infection and how to use ARVs if infected.
ReplyDeleteMaureen
The ignorance of believing that engaging in homosexuall relationship has a low effect on getting infected by the virus has led to much more spread of the HIV among the homosexuall and bisexuall people
ReplyDeleteSome people beliefs that one can get HIV via shaking hands or hugging. This belief has persisted from the dawn of the epidemic in the early 1980s. HIV is transmitted through blood, semen, vaginal fluid, and breast milk. You cannot get HIV by shaking hands or hugging, nor can you get it from a toilet seat, drinking fountain, or drinking glasses. HIV does not travel through air or food and cannot live long outside the body. By Pauline mbithe
ReplyDeleteSome of these cultural beliefs have to be done away with because this are the same things that put the community members at a risk of acquiring HIV.
ReplyDeletePeople should now know the all fact is that HIV virus exists and all the cultural beliefs to be forgotten about they say...if infected let one use ARVS to live longer...Victor mutuku
ReplyDeletePeople should be taught ways HIV is spreading and also prevention of HIV/AIDS..Zanzam

ReplyDeleteWe should discourage beliefs of wife inheritance because in other way it does reduces the high chances of HIV transmission and the number increase of deaths . Through solving this esue w should teach and help communities understand the risks of their beliefs.
ReplyDeleteMisconceptions will be there but it's up to us not to believe them

It's high time for people to stop believing rather they should be involved in preventing HIV infection.
ReplyDeletePeople should not take myth and should now HIV is serious disease with no cure at all
ReplyDeleteMyths and misconception on HIV will be there and that's a fact. HIV is real and it has no cure. Prevention is better than cure . Abstainance is the key factor here.
ReplyDeleteIt is important for mass education of HIV virus to be given to even the minority groups and everyone in general because the beliefs cause them to shun infected people and also not properly protect themselves due to lack of knowledge

ReplyDeleteIt is crazy that most men in the rural communities have myths and believe that if infected and they have sextual intercourse with a vagin minor or infant they will be cured from the virus
people should know on the effect of HIV scientifically and stop believing in myths and misconceptions about HIV/AIDS
ReplyDeletefaiza
People should do away with some cultural beliefs, since some are contributing to hiv infection, those cultures who still believe in this beliefs should be taught on how hiv is prevented
ReplyDeleteHaving many wives is not a problem .The problem occurs when you are not using condoms.
ReplyDeleteIn the world today many pple put their trust on using condoms during sex which has a 50% chance of preventing contracting hiv. This is because the condoms may tear during sex thus body fluids are exposed
ReplyDeleteMyths about HIV and aids transmission have been going on for a long time but due to the education system of the modern society most people know how HIV is spread and hence tend to avoid superstitions like shaking hands with an infected person causes HIV or hugging
ReplyDeletesome other people believe that HIV can be transmitted through some other ways like eating together, sitting together and some other many days.the truth is,HIV is transmitted mainly trough when body fluids comes into contact like during sexual inter courses or during birth of children in case the parent is infected.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most common myths is that Aids has a cure,,,thus having sex with a virgin one can be cured .Aids has no cure but one can take the antiretroviral medicines inorder to stay healthy and increase his or her life span. People should shift from myths and put in to consideration the various programs on HIV and preventation measures which are being provided by the government .by christine
ReplyDeletepeople should not tend to believe the myth and misconception of HIV AIDS transmission but rather to seek education on HIV AIDS preventions
ReplyDeleteTraditional myth about HIV puts a lot of people who believe and adhere to them at a higher risk of being infected by HIV and AIDS.
ReplyDeletePeople should stop believing in myths and cultural believes which makes them at risk of being infected or one can pass the virus to one another due to myths.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to reducing the risk of getting hiv choosing to only have sex with other hiv negative guys not work very well
ReplyDeleteThe communities who still practise polygamouse marrige and circumcision of girl should be taught on deadly diseases such as HIV and STIs.Effects, control and spread of this diseases.
ReplyDeleteAbstainance is the best method to prevent HIV virus and ideas of passing from one community to another by teaching to abstain unprotected sex is absolutely good. . By rahma
ReplyDeleteMost people believe that HIV is the same as Aids whereas this is a lie. HIV is therefore the virus that leads to Aids and this should be put to book. You could have HIV for years without having AIDS.
ReplyDeleteIts true many communities have their myths concerning HIV and AIDS whereby most of people are being infected due to lack of knowledge of knowing that HIV is transmitted through exchange of fluids.BY FAITH

ReplyDeleteIn African countries HIV and AIDs is believed to be a curse. This misconception leads to more infections and the wide spread in these nations, belief that a virgin will cleanse the curse, leads in spreading it more.
ReplyDeleteMARY MUSYOKA
In recent years most communities have been enlightened i.e No more practises of girls circumsicion. Use of different blades during circumscion has reduced the spread of infections
ReplyDeleteHellen
many people believe that Hiv is a myth or a misconception but in real sense hiv/Aids is there and has no cure but presence of ARV's is to reduce the viral load or the concentration of hiv virus in the body . people should be educated on the awareness of hiv disease and more so teach people to abstain from sex or use s condom if sex is a must
