This section gives on action oriented measures to be employed by the government in the area of law, administrative policy and practice that will protect
The government will guide those people who are infected with Hiv /Aids by setting the following rules
No criminal law violation in the context of HIV/AIDS
Translation of human rights to codes of conduct regarding HIV/AIDS issues
Education of people affected by HIV/AIDS about their rights including free legal service
Address on public Health issues related to HIV/AIDS e.g Tuberclosis outbreak
Availability of qualitative preventive measure and services at an affordable price
Human Rights Relevant to HIV/AIDS
Countries have an obligation to respect, protect and fulfill all human rights including HIV/AIDS related
Freedom of opinion and expression and the rights to freely receive and impart information
Equal access to education
Free from torture and cruelty in human or degrading treatment or punishment
Freedom of association
Participate in public and cultural life
Adequate standard of living
Liberty and security of persons
The highest attainable standard of physical and mental health
International Responses To The HIV/AIDS Pandemic
The epidemic is not out of control everywhere; some countries and communities have managed to stabilize HIV rates or achieve a turnaround, and some have maintained very low prevalence rates, due to range of factors that are not yet fully understood. Other communities have made significant progress on care and support for people both infected and affected

Government should establish and promote programs

of the infected,and also ensure adequate allocation of
resources to HIV AND AIDS interventions.
The government has been keen on protecting the rights of those infected from cruelty and torture as anyone found assaulting or harassing them because of their situation or making their status public without their consent is normally charged in court

The government has done alot in terms of ensuring that the ARVs drugs are distributed to various hospitals around the country and ensuring that they are given to HIV patients accordingly.

ReplyDeleteThe government on the hand needs to stand with the affected.it should provide economic support by maybe taking them for a workshop for them to learn and do some little work so that they can manage their needs and for the whole family.

The government has provided free ARVs for infected people,provided free condoms so as to minimise the transmission of HIV virus,VCT centres for people to know their status and has encouraged learning of HIV&AIDS as a subject and a topic in all learning institutions.

In 2008 the government had opened a counselling centre in Korogocho slums of which it was discovered that most of them were infected and were counselled, but of late the government has reduced its concern on the matter of HIV counselling centers

The government has improved the health sector's and have strengthened laws that protect HIV victims by protecting the ones who we're infected through rape which includes a boy child. Also by making it easy and accessible of antiviral medication to all without any finance needed.
