ABCD

ABCD method of prevention by Mbuthia.
The method has been advocated for as the best means for preventing and controlling HIV infections.
The A-Abstinence
This is refraining totally from sexual intercourse which is considered the best way to prevent transmission of HIV.
Abstinence means not engaging in any sexual activity in which there is direct or theoretical risk of exposure to blood semen and vaginal fluid
B-Be faithful.
It should include two partners who have tested negative they should enter into strictly monogomous relationship .It only works if both partners are known to be uninfected when their sexual relationship begins neither partner had sex even one time outside the primary relationship
C-Condom use during intercourse can greatly reduce chances of acquiring or transmitting HIV and STD.
Although the latest generation consider going 'meat for meat' they should be aware of the risks involved hence should consistently use a condom after every intercourse and the following ways should be considered
1) never use the same condom
2)putting a condom as soon as erection occurs but before any contact is made between the penis and any part of your partners body
3)leave a space at the tip
4)Adequate lubrication
5)withdraw immediately after ejaculation
6)and most important is to check date, consider the different favours that will not cause irritation.
Condom is not considered safest method due to its weaknesses like leaking, slipping inside woman's body which exposes both partners to the virus
Female condoms are worn inside the vagina which can be inserted into vagina upto 8 hrs before the intercourse.
When wearing  condoms they should direct the penis into the female condom so that it finds its way in the vagina
D-Destigmatisation
Stigma is an act of identifying labelling or attributing undesirable qualities targeted towards those who are perceived as shamefully different from society thus talking freely about AIDS and create awareness.
Remove stigma such that infected people are not neglected
The infected should not be seen as irresponsible or very bad people

  2. Abstinance in a good choice,if in a relationship then being faithful is best. Using condoms is helpful in reducing chances of getting infected with HIV. It's up to an individual to choose what's best for him/her.

  3. In order for condoms to be effective, you have to use a new one correctly every single time you have sex. That means putting on a condom before there’s any skin-to-skin genital contact, and keeping it on until you’re done having sex. If you only use condoms sometimes, or put them on halfway through sex, they won’t work as well. Having a supply of condoms and making sure they’re close by before you get busy can help you remember to use them.
