RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATION AND HIV/AIDS


Education has been identified as a common social vaccine against getting HIV. Accurate information of health risks suggests a negative linear relationship between years of education and HIV infection rate. As it was made by UNESCO Director in 2011 during World Aids Day, education is one of three primary concerns and urged for it to become a full fledged priority.
All individual in and out of formal education,should have access to comprehensive Hiv education. Students are learning day in day out about sexual transmitted diseases mainly HIV/AIDS and their hazardous towards human life.Education comes in as a strong factor in improving population by building capacity to process and understand risks related to HIV pandemics. Education is important in growth of adolescent reasoning, as having less prior knowledge shows a compulsory to contract reality based on recent experiences.
As it was analysed in 2007 in Sidney , Australia in  within 236 adults ,age 20 to 65 , respondents were concerned about risk of HIV/ AIDS transmitted through casual contact leading to disapproval of homosexuality and drug use.In contrast, highly educated respondent with a lower level education .People should be educated on importances of visiting VCT severally so as to know their status so as to curb spread of HIV. As seen in Georgia the Georgian sex worker were found to be highly lacking knowledge about Hiv therefore only 61% knows a healthy person can be infected by HIV, 44% thinks mosquito bite can spread HIV, 64% knows using condom for every act can reduce risk of HIV. Only 25% thinks a teacher whovis HIV positive should be allowed to teach in class.
Stigma associated with those who have HIV in sub- Saharan Africa prevent many from getting tested for HIV.Relations predict, as formal education continues to change attitudes towards those living with HIV/AIDS the reduction of stigma enhances prevention techniques.

Myth is a widely held but false idea or belief,on the other hand witchcraft is the practice of and belief in magical skills and abilities exercised by solitary practitioners. It is a central to many African conceptions of illness, disease causation and etiology. It varies culturally depending with the society. DRUG ABUSE CONTRIBUTION TO HIV /AIDS SPREAD Drug abuse is the over or under use  of any substance that alternates the normal functioning of the body. Drug abuse has been a great contributor to the spread  of HIV/AIDS. Do drugs contribute to the Spread  of HIV and how?
