Most people do not actually know the difference between HIV and Aids.HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system,our body's natural defense against illness.Aids describes set of symptoms and illness that happen at the final stage of HIV infection.AIDs stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome,it's also called advanced HIV
One can get HIV infection when he/she comes into contact with infected body fluids such as blood,semen,vaginal secretions and breast milk.In order for HIV to be transmitted HIV must be present and it must get inside the body.Sexual behaviors that can transmit HIV include vaginal sex,anal sex or oral sex.Othet ways of hiv infection include sharing needles when shooting druhs,home tattooing and body piercing,accidental needle sticks,blood transfusion,childbirth and breastfeeding.
Most people with HIV infection do not look sick and they do not know they are sick until tested and found to be HIV positive.HIV cannot be transmitted through saliva,tears,sweat,hugging,kissing,massage,shaking hands,sharing towels or toilets etc.in order to avoid getting HIV you must prevent semen,vaginal fluid or breast milk of someone who is infected from entering your body.
HIV victim who is not on Arvs,eventually the virus weakens the body's immune system and would progress to Aids.In the late stage of Hiv infection symptoms can include,rapid weight loss,recurring fever or profuse night sweats.First stage of HIV when it passes most people infected with the virus will start to feel healthier but that doesn't mean that the virus is gone.It can take as long as 10 years for othe symptoms to show up.
