A misconception in relation to HIV

Generalized dermatitis
Ways of treatment are antitestamine, antiretroviral drugs and steroids.
It includes : a) xerosis –this is skin dryness which often appears as itchy scaly patches on arms and legs .it is caused by hot and dry weather.
                     b) Atopic Dermatitis – is chronic inflammatory condition that often causes red, scaly and itchy rashes.
                     c) Photo dermatitis – occurs when UV rays from sunlight causes, blisters or dry patches on the skin.
2: infections
Herpes zoster – it is caused by underlying virus as chickenpox.it leads to shingles which is painful.
Mollusca contagious – is characterized by pink coloured bumps on the skin, they are actually painless and tend to appear on the face, arms and the upper body.
Oral hairy leukoplakia – is a viral infection characterizes by thick white lesions on the tongue.
3: skin lessons
Kaposi sarcoma – this is a form of cancer that affects the lining of lymph nodes or blood vessels .it appears as dark brown, purple or reddish skin lesions. This form of cancer can affect the lungs, digestive tract and the liver.it may cause shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing and swelling of the skin.
These lesions often appear when the white blood cells count drops dramartically.their appearance is often a sign that HIV has turned into AIDS, and that your immune system is severely compromised.
Kaposi sarcoma responds to chemotherapy, radiation and surgery .ongoing antiretroviral drugs therapy has shown promise in reducing the incidence of this cancer in people with HIV.
