CHALLENGES FACING VCT IN KENYA

CHALLENGES FACED BY VOLUNTARY COUNSELING AND TESTING (VCT)
1.       Training; ICT need an increase on the number of councillors who gives training to people living positive life. They don’t have enough trainers who can train even the expectant mothers on how they can do prevent their children from HIV.
2.       Supervision; As the number of people increases in the hospital, the VCT people need more supervisors to ensure quality counselling to the patient they handle each and every day so they need more supervisors to so supervise.
3.       Gender; Girl child  matures at puberty and eventually is contracted into early marriage
4.       Young people; most people who are affected more are the young people but they do not go for counselling and also  are rude and cannot be trusted. They don’t have respect to the leaders.
5.       Human rights; Human rights should be given first priority and managed in a good manner but in the VCT it’s the supervisors who gives out the result to the patient of which this can bring conflict between supervisors and medical staffs.
6.       Referral and outreach; As the demand for VCT increases more stand-alone Sites will be established easting to the people and these stand alone will not give out g quality counselling and people will not get full medication service.
7.       Career structure and job description; Councillors should be provided with well managed job because they have professional and it should be recognised

Myth is a widely held but false idea or belief,on the other hand witchcraft is the practice of and belief in magical skills and abilities exercised by solitary practitioners. It is a central to many African conceptions of illness, disease causation and etiology. It varies culturally depending with the society. DRUG ABUSE CONTRIBUTION TO HIV /AIDS SPREAD Drug abuse is the over or under use  of any substance that alternates the normal functioning of the body. Drug abuse has been a great contributor to the spread  of HIV/AIDS. Do drugs contribute to the Spread  of HIV and how? It  increases the likely hood  of users to engage in high-risk  sexual practice   with infected individuals. Drug abuse also interferes with  effectiveness  of HIV treatment.
