Ways through which HIV can be transmitted

HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system which is our body’s defence against illness. If it is left untreated, it may take up to 10-15 years for the immune system to be so severely damaged which cannot defend itself at all. Within a few weeks of infection the symptoms’ such as fever sore throat and fatigue can occur. To get infected bodily fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluids) need to get into your blood through a mucous membrane or be infected directly to your bloodstream
There are a lot of myths and misconception about how you can get HIV i.e. can be passed on from person infected through unprotected sex, mother to child during pregnancy and breast feeding. Also during organ transplantation one can get infected when the donor’s blood is not screened well to check if the person is infected with any disease like AIDS.
There are some ways through which aids can be transmitted or spread
Cultural practices like
§  Polygamy-marrying of many wives can cause the spread of HIV among the family
§  Wife inheritance-there are certain tribes who beliefs in inheriting wife’s from their family which is   not right

Drugs used to cure HIV/AIDS
The major drug used to meet aid are ARVs.they usually don’t cure the patient with the diseases but they reduce viral lob .they are classified into different category.
1.       Nuclear side-usually inhibit the functioning of enzyme called reverse transcriptase which is usually important in convection of genetic makeup of virus
2.       Non-nuclear side-also inhibits the enzyme reverse   transcriptase but on different site as compared to the nuclear side
3.       Protease inhibitor-inhibits the enzyme protease. Usually very important for synthesis of protein which are required to manufacture genetic material of HIV/AIDS
4.       Fusion inhibitor-inhibit the fusion viral cell receptor
Importance of ARV’S
·         Increase life span of HIV victim
·         Make the person to look health and normally
·         Make the person also to continue with their normal duties
·         Have sight effect
·         ARV’s are taken for life time
·         They can led one to drug resistance

Control of HIV/AIDS
·         Abstain from sex
·         People are advised to use condoms
·         Partners should be faithful to one another
·         Be provided with health education about aids
